Cabinet of Valradio's first model.

Valradio specialised in high-end projection sets, releasing their first sets when the Mullard projection system began to establish itself in 1950. A very unusual feature of their early sets is the range of supply voltages ; not only did they produce AC and AC/DC versions but also versions for 110V D.C. and 50V D.C., presumably the latter being for use onboard ships ?

When transmissions started on Band III Valradio also produced a multi-channel tuner for conversion of Band I sets.

They continued producing projection sets certainly until the late 60's. The Duotel 34 and Unitel 33 are described in the October 1965 issue of Wireless World. The Unitel 33 is also mentioned "Radio Year Book 1969/70".
