Front View [26K] On/Off and volumeTone ?WavebandTuning

  • Circa 1960 ?
  • LW, MW plus seven SW Wavebands
  • 4 Valves (UCH81, UF89, UBC81 and UL84)
    plus one power semiconductor diode.
  • A.C./D.C. Mains
  • Original cost unknown
NOTES With all them short wave bands, this must be a highly sensitive communications receiver mustn't it ?

Nope, behind all those short wave bands lies a basic run-of-the-mill domestic receiver.
SERVICE DATA Whos nicked me HT rectifier! [10K]Kind of. There is service data on CD#2 but this set has the HT rectifier valve replaced by a semiconductor.
CURRENT STATE Basically very sound, although there are a few splits in the finish on the top of the set. Also, I've been warned that there are a few mods in the audio section as apparently the original version had poor sound quality, as well as a tendancy to develop heater/cathode shorts.
WHERE FOUND A donation from Peter.
