Blackburn factory.
After a complicated series of chemical processes, the coarse raw material, natural calcium tungstate, is converted into
paratungstate.
In the picture, this is shown on trays before drying in a vacuum oven. After a further series of precisely controlled processes,
a handful of this powder is transformed into miles of fine tungsten wire, every inch of which conforms to the most exacting
standards.."
