- Vidor Ltd., West Street, Erith, Kent
Vidor are pehaps most commonly assosciated with battery and battery
radio production. They may have shown a 12" TV model prior to World War
II but if so it may well have not entered production. However they certainly
entered the TV market by the very end of the 1940's with their model CN370 console,
closely followed by the CN377 table model.
With the dawning of the Band III era manufacturers started dropping like flies, Vidor proving no exception. They released their last model, the CN4231, at the end of 1955.

There doesn't seem to have been anything particularly striking in their sets, and to my mind many of their earlier sets, such as those illustrated above, bear more than a passing resemblance to cabinets used by other manufacturers. Only the CN390 stands out as being a little different, the top half looking like a (HMV!) console but with the bottom half used as a bookcase. All the cost of a console without the extra sound quality ?
