Dynatron produced televisions for several years before the war. However the TV21 and K329 are the companies first post-war televisions. First exhibited at the 1947 Radiolympia, deliveries did not commence until september 1948, over a year later. Although very expensive, technically the sets were pretty run of the mill.

One nice feature that seems to have persisted through most of there sets is that the chassis and C.R.T. were mounted in a frame such that the entire electronics could be removed from the television's cabinet for servicing.

Notes : 1. Two models, the TV21 and K329, were also announced in Wireless Electrical Trader, 18th September 1948, with exactly the same specifuication and prices as the TV23 and K349. Neither the TV21 or K329 are mentioned "Used Radio and Television Set Values" which quotes models TV23 and K349 (of 1948/1949) as the only two models from that period, and a contemporary Manufacturer's advertising brochure also only lists the TV23 and K439. Thus the details in the Wireless and Electrical Trader are likely to be misprints.
  2. The references "TV23", "TV24A" refer to the TV chassis itself, which in each case could be used in a number of different receivers.

Note 3 : The release date for the model P314 is taken from a gude to used TV prices. The illustration comes from a Dynatron brochure from probably 1951 (as it mentions Manchester area transmissions). However teh 5x4 aspect ratio of the screen suggests a release date of 1949.

In July/August 1955 Ekco aquired a controlling interest in Dynatron.

1956 - Onwards

Towards the end of the 50's Dynatron were upmarket versions of Ekco / Ferranti products.
