Next : Marconi TF801D

Front View [31K]

  • Released perhaps circa 1960?
  • Covers 7.5 to 250 Mc/s with both
    A.M. and F.M. modulation.
  • Single 6BQ7 valve plus one tr*ns*st*r.
  • Original cost unknown.
NOTES I never cease to be amazed at how Advance manage to make large signal generators with nowt but a single valve in 'em yet pack in so many functions, although this time they had to cheat just a little by sneaking in a tr*ns*st*r thingy.
SERVICE DATA Nope :-(
CURRENT STATE The odd knock but otherwise pretty good. Works too, I know this cos the seller told me so ...
WHERE FOUND August 2003 R.A.F. Cosford computer fair for £8.

Interior view [27K]H.T. Metal RectifierThe one and only valve - a 12AT7
This is quite a large unit ... and is almost totally empty.
The two screened boxes around the main circuitry have been
removed so you can see the one and only valve with an arrow.
